Team Gazzetta Jimny Returns to the Italian Baja Rally!
Competing in the 2025 Italian Baja Dello Stella event, our friends at Team Gazzetta celebrated a fantastic third place result with their Suzuki Jimny. This was all the more impressive considering that the car was almost a complete write-off after a huge crash at an earlier round back in June.
During the second round of the Italian Baja season, Team Gazzetta's Jimny was involved in a monumental crash with another competitor's vehicle which, unfortunately, was not Team Gazzetta's fault at all. However, they were now left with a heavily damaged Jimny that required extensive repairs.
The front left corner of their car had taken the brunt of the impact, with the shock absorber, radius arm, radius arm mount, steering rod and upper spring perch all having been damaged beyond repair. The force of the impact pushed the Jimny into a nearby tree, which resulted in extensive damage to the roof as well.
Thankfully, Team Gazzetta use our super tough HIGH PEAK J-02 wheels; in this instance, the front left J-02 wheel did not shatter or explode upon impact. Despite the huge forces placed upon it, the wheel simply deformed in one area, allowing the tyre to maintain its shape and preventing the crash from being even worse than it already was.
The damaged HIGH PEAK J-02 wheel is now proudly on display in our showroom, as a testament to the strength of the wheel's design and construction. The J-02 is our own original design, manufactured in Italy and TÜV-approved for the 2018+ JB74 Suzuki Jimny. At the time of writing, there is a 10% discount available on HIGH PEAK J-02 wheels!
After many months of repair work on a jig (the chassis was measured to have been 48mm out of alignment, prior to repair work commencing!), Team Gazzetta were proud to have their Jimny ready for last weekend's 2025 Italian Baja Dello Stella event that kicked off in Piazza Tarabane.
As part of its rebuild, the Team Gazzetta Jimny was equipped with a number of new parts from our catalogue. In addition to a replacement HIGH PEAK J-02 wheel, the team also installed:
